Last day of the first semester break…

Oh yesterday was great. Here’s a couple of updates.

I just re-updated my HAF 932!! (I know it’s fast)

Hahaha!!! After some hard time searching for the Hex/Allen’s key/wrench, I finally found it. All these time it was with me actually. Lol. Guess where I found it.

P1010861

My trusty toolbox.

P1010865

The Allen’s key adapter and the screwdriver holder thing. Don’t know what’s it called lol~

Actually there’s a purpose why I am searching for the Allen’s key screwdriver. I wanted to change all the Allen’s key from my HAF 932’s 230mm fan to Philips screws for the fans instead. Easy for work and no fuss about searching for Allen’s key screwdriver again. My second purpose is for changing my side panel fan from intake to exhaust fan.

P1010873

The pack of Allen’s key screws I removed from my HAF 932. Total of 8 screws. These little things were hard to remove!

P1010878

The screws I changed to. Looks weird since the screws are silver in color and the casing is pitch black.

P1010879

Side panel fan.

Also, on the last update I widen up the power supply plug due to inconveniency.

P1010874

Nothing much right?

P1010894

A random picture I took showing the from the third fan slot from the HAF 932’s top panel. It’s suppose to guide air out from the third fan because its half blocked by the IO panel. Great idea. And nice design.

The fantastic meal in this holiday

I’m a hungry freak, and I like to eat fried food a lot. As yesterday night right after the HAF 932’s update, my mom and I went out to pack some food for me and my sister.

P1010882

Again, guess what it is~

P1010884

Wow?

P1010893

There’s actually lots of varieties inside. I can name a few like fish fillet, chicken fillet, fried egg, French fries, sausage, and many more. My sister ate the Fish Fillet Burger plus egg. I think she’s hungry.

P1010896

A random picture I simply took. It shows my mom’s hunger to eat. Lol. Please don’t get angry.

Workstation Cable Management! Part 2!!

Hoho, as my family and some of my readers (again thanks for visiting and/or reading!) knows that I like to play around with cables and manage them, I just did it again! This time its for the area behind my speakers and my monitor.

P1010895

Coincidently my mom had a box that she’s going to call me to abolish it soon. It was the perfect size for this time’s workstation cable management.

P1010899

Again, taping and cutting has to take place first. This time with Jupiter Rising’s new album! Tres Cool~

P1010901

This time is less complex. It’s quite simple as just a three holes will do.

P1010903

Two holes at each end.

P1010904

After most of the taping and cutting

P1010905

Again, after most taping and cutting.

P1010906

This is before.

P1010907

During the process. My back was aching mad!

P1010908

After! Sorry for the blur picture, my back was seriously aching as I was bending a little.

P1010909

Another picture of the box after the cables are done. Do note that the wire behind the box is actually the wall wire for the connection.

Suggestions and comments are welcome for this workstation cable management. Do help me out too.

Well after this I might not post so often as this week because of school work and exhaustion after school. Will try to keep up my effort! Till next time!

Cable management for my rig and my workstation.

Haha, as most of my readers (thanks for visiting, reading, browsing, hopping through – very much appreciated!) knows, I somehow like to organize stuff such as cables, re-positioning things and doing some weird things.

Just yesterday, I modified the shoebox again due to some inconveniency. P1010814

This was the shoebox before it was modified.

P1010815

This was after. I only patched the old hole and then cut another hole right above the old hole.

P1010818

I also patched this hole. It was getting rend and tear by the voltage regulator.

Then suddenly got other me and I also enlarged hole for the wire to the power supply. No picture was taken. (Sorry!) Time for my rig!

 P1010848 P1010844

I redecorated the cables behind, it looks much more simple now. Also I have more workspace for my HDD part, and also exchanged slots for my HDDs.

Then I though of something about mounting my heatsink’s stock fan to the HDD. That is exactly what I did.

P1010839

The tying process sucks. It made my fingers plausible to scrub off my dead skin.

P1010840

Looking great!

P1010849

Even the spinning looks nice eh~

Then tragedy strikes. I was sweating mad. I mounted the fan clashing with the stock 230mm red LED fan. Both fans blow to the same direction, the HDD. Had to undo all the ties and turn it around. –_-

P1010852

Done! No more hologram sticker. That’s not good eh.

After that I went and see the results. Neither of my HDDs increase nor drop in temperature. It was weird, but somehow now my HDD’s heat is quite stable, as it wont increase more than 40ÂșC.

P/S : Any comments or suggestions about my cable management are accepted~ Do help me out here!

Stuff happening – Summary of this one-week-holiday.

Okay, I know its weird to do something like this. Actually this is the week that I posted the most to my blog and the week that my blog’s posts are being spammed off so fast~

Anyway do see some weird things now.

DSC00152

Taken by my phone right outside Pantai Hospital’s traffic light. It’s disgusting, I know. It’s all rust. By the way, turns out my phone camera with enough light is really nice.

DSC00158

Taken this picture by my phone again during tuition for Physics. There’s actually a guy sitting there with girls when there’s actually HELL LOTS  of space that day.

P1010808

A blur picture taken by my digital camera. It’s actually a dead mosquito I found in my HAF 932…

Haha, I will post up what happened to my rig in the next post. Till next time, like err 20 minutes? Haha~

Chia’s PSP

Well to tell the truth, that day when my brother reached home with Chia, I was happy to see the PSP is her hand. Taking the PSP to fix and then BAM Patapon with Tekken 5 : Dark Resurrection! But then something happened.

P1010766

Sony PSP battery. Looks fine with it right?

P1010774

Saw anything with it yet?

Image3310

Now this picture tells everything. The battery was bloated. No wonder my brother put the battery at the freezer.

Well I don’t know exactly what happened to it but he said just left the PSP in the car then this happened. I was dumbfounded.

Then after that we took the PSP to Yik Foong, Ipoh for a check-up. The guy looks fishy but he’s really an honest guy. He showed us the PSP’s internal as the PSP is actually a PSP rebuilt into PSP 2000. He even showed us the original PSP 2000’s internal comparing to this PSP. Seriously this PSP has some stickers, plaster, hotwired things and some weird things. Even the joystick and the directional buttons are displaced.

P1010793

The PSP still looks great too. What a waste.

Laptop Review – My cousin’s Acer…

First of all I would like to declare something that is my cousin’s laptop was bought last year. And also, laptop’s performance are lower than desktop’s even if the hardware are same.

P1010697

First look at the laptop

P1010732

The list of “special features” on the laptop itself.

P1010731

As usual, Windows Vista sticker is there with the processor sticker. What’s so surprising is the graphic card. The nVidia 8600M GT @ 512MB.

Well when I first saw the laptop, it looks great! But I was wrong. Only the design is nice but the quality build is bad. I tried to play Need For Speed : Undercover with this laptop while running in the batteries and Power-saver was switched to High Performance. It still lags.

So I tried to check the hardware clocks at the BIOS, and this is what I saw…

P1010738

IDE DVD-ROM? Seems like ACER is cheating all their customers?

Also I would like to dig out few things to talk about with this laptop.

P1010720

It has a TV-out port and HDMI port.

P1010756 P1010752

It has dual microphone which is built-in plus, a webcam.

P1010745

It has a subwoofer O_O

P1010713

The battery. Most of the weight of the laptop comes from this battery.

P1010703

By pressing the word ACER, the shell actually goes down, feeling like its going to crack open.

There’s also a few touch buttons on the laptop itself, as the multimedia keys plus some keys which does some crap stuff. But as ACER tries to go touch-screen, it’s really irresponsive.

DSC00429

What 'I’m talking about

DSC00156

There’s a button which open this thing which opens multimedia files in it.

Overall this laptop quite sucks for its performance. It sucks because the keys aren’t that good, or maybe that my cousin doesn’t know how to keep his laptop in a good condition. Thanks for reading lol~

Strange things happening…

Hmm… Lets start off with my new casing, the HAF 932. I was popping in and out DVDs to be ripped and to be recorded. At the same time, I was transferring stuff from my phone (pictures at the previous like 4 posts??). Then when I removed the USB card reader, I felt that something was pulling it, not letting it go. Without hesitation, I went to check out, and this was happening.

P1010586

I have no idea that this will happen.

After that, I dig out my old CPU cooler’s stock 120mm fan for a check.

P1010602

It actually looks great. Dusty fan! (Captain Obvious here). But when I took pictures of the other parts, this is what I saw…

P1010604

Disappointment. Did they forgot to put the LED there for waiting for the users to modify their own choice of LED colors. Seriously retarded. At least give us blue or red LED. Green is seriously not the color for brightening up your rig.

P1010606

I tried to take another good shot at it then I got this… After that I decided to do some Photoshopping.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Turned out great!

Out of curiosity, I tried to take a picture of the lights in my casing by the CoolerMaster fan I bought recently. I wanted to investigate the performance of my digital camera, which is quite old. I took the picture from the meshed holes on top of my casing. This is the result.

P1010593

I wouldn’t say its bad. But still not really happy with the result.

Well that’s all for now. Will update sooner.

Another box modification

Well I got too boring on Monday and there was a box which I hated for too much extension and blocking my way…

So what I did was to modify it.

P1010645

This was the original box. Forgot to take some pictures before cutting it. Note that the lines are my guidelines for the length.

P1010646

The piece that I cut off

P1010648

After cutting. I never leave it this way. What I did was this…

P1010651

Secure taping 101. Seriously no way for it to come out now.

P1010657

After modifying it, I left it back at the original place. Now that size of the box is really great. The retention of my motherboard processor is just enough to put it in with my finger along. And my packet of screws too.

I will upload more, don’t worry. I know that this is a lame update =D

Weather at Ipoh

Well, first I want to tell that I am majorly updating my blog posts!

As for now, I will post about the weather at Ipoh these days. As I am at the Lowyat forums, members tend to complain about the weather. So now I will post pictures of the weather changes in minutes.

P1010653

This is earlier

P1010655

This is later

As you can see, in these two pictures the weather doesn’t have much changes…

But in these pictures, you can see it quite clearly…

P1010654

This is earlier

P1010656

This is later

The changes here are very … much…

Then in like 10 minutes or so, rain starts to pour.

P1010685

Oh the rain. My sister and I just washed that white MyVi =(

Cable management on like err, few weeks ago?

P1010619

Okay, so here’s the minor changes I did to it. I just cut the 4 pin motherboard connector on the top left, so the other one won’t pop its head out. That’s all. Haha.

P1010618

So about this, I need help on the HDD connectors part. Look at those wires, my God! Please can anyone give me some suggestions or comments about it? Desperately need help on the HDD part.

Also, I accept whatever comments or suggestions about my cable management. Trying my best for perfection it cable management.

By the way, I thought of getting a rounded IDE cable. What do you think? Will it help to reduce the bunch of wires at the HDD part? Please help me.

Apple iPhone

The iPhone you’ve been waiting for. Now available.

Quoted from Maxis Official Website. They are actually having an event for this phone’s official launching @ KL 20th this month.

Untitled-1

This is the price of the phone, directly cut-and-paste from Maxis website. It is hell expensive.

Well, actually we can’t judge a real phone by its price, we judge by its performance and its functions.

As all people around the world said that the iPhone is actually great, we have to see the new iPhone 3G. The difference is only the 3G speed, and the price.

As the iPhone is the first device that has multi-touch function. It takes great advantages of its technology. And better, it never lags. I never used an iPhone before, but I see no complaints about the iPhone lagging.

Then, about its accelerometer technology. Its redefined and it has the best response in the iPhone. There are lots of games made specially for iPhone using the accelerometer. You can even roll dice by swinging it, driving by turning the phone, or randomizing the playlist by just a simple swing.

About the size of the phone. Thin is the word for it. It is small enough for normal use and office use. It has quite a decent camera.

Overall I think the iPhone is great. Might consider getting one too, but not from Maxis it is.
