McDonald’s Coca-Cola Glasses!

I just love those glasses. It looks large in the picture, but the real thing is quite small.

Last Friday, my mom, my sister and I went to Jusco and have a meal of McDonald’s =D We’re all crazy about the glasses so we went to get two of them. To get one glass, you’ll have to eat one McValue set large (any set) and a sundae. Sounds like a killer, but I’m ok with that =D

P1010229

Thanks to my sister for bringing out the camera =D

I just got hungry by looking at this picture. Good thing my brother got McDonald’s back as I am typing this. He said he got the green glass too.

P1010235

The glasses!

P1010239

The glass might be diminished but well, it’s a sturdy one.

P1010250

The glasses without the boxes.

I suggest to those who wants of of these, go get them before it’s too late! Stocks are limited =D

Wolfenstein!

Wolfenstein! Yes the game! No, not the old ones, this is the new one!

Though my brother said the game actually have pretty bad sales due to the story and the gameplay, well yeah. I agree. It’s World War 2, just like Call of Duty.

Wolf2 2009-09-30 15-22-33-55

The introduction.

The story is pretty locked up and boring. It’s all about ancient artifacts and Nazis.

Wolf2 2009-09-30 20-47-26-75

Another one just like Call of Duty!

Wolf2 2009-09-30 15-38-49-81

First ancient thing.

Wolf2 2009-09-30 20-29-28-25

Nazis dominated the town and wanting to dig up all the artifacts.

Also this game is very fictional. I stand by my point here with my dignity.

Wolf2 2009-09-30 21-17-24-13

A shining beacon. Shoot down all the hoops by slowing the time and shoot the weak spot.

Wolf2 2009-10-03 13-14-11-66

The Nazi fortress. It’s built underground!

Overall the game (my opinion) is quite okay, or maybe it’s bad. I just started playing it not long ago. My progress in the game is still just a little step.

Again, this game is Wolfenstein and I’m going to play it when I have the time and update this post =D

Happy Mooncake Festival!

Well yeah, it’s a little over here but well, here you go =D

mooncake

*I made this in less than 30 minutes*

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

Little too late for that now actually.

XBOX 360!

Yes, my brother got an Xbox 360. So it means more gaming on the 360 instead of my own computer lol, since games are releasing for the 360 first instead of PC, and also more choices of games for the 360, for example Assassin’s Creed II. November release is for the XBOX 360 and also the Sony PlayStation 3, but 2010 release for computers. What a bummer, right?

So here goes the unboxing of the XBOX 360, I did it since my brother went out =P I was a little sleepy and tired the other day so it’s quite blurry.

P1010079

The box. It’s freaking heavy and also large.

And so the unboxing begins!

P1010084

First of all, it’s the console itself of course!

Beneath the console is quite a havoc.

P1010087

No wonder it’s so heavy!

Here’s a few pictures of all the things inside the box!

P1010088

The controller for the 360. Wireless, and also very comfortable to be held. Positioning might be weird for the analogs, but it’s really comfortable.

P1010093

The power supply. Huge isn’t it?

P1010091

Sorry for the blur picture, it’s the main cable that splits to audio and video. There’s a flip switch for HDTV and TV.

P1010099

The included microphone and also the headphone.

P1010101

The LAN cable. Note that it’s actually metal at the contact points.

P1010103

The power cord.

So I got everything connected, hooked up the cables and all, but the final step – get it running and I failed. All because of the loose HDMI cable I connected. Who discovered it? My brother lol, he was so red that night when he came back.

P1010110

Lololololol.

P1010108

So yeah, finally got the game running!

And the next day, I got a terrible fever for like half a day, because on the one-day trip to KL I sweated a lot, and I didn’t cool down much on that day. Guess I stressed my body.

My brother actually stole my HAF 932’s aluminium standoffs to prevent getting the red ring of death, because he wants to save space and also cool the 360. So he just stole the standoffs.

P1010122

Not that I mind since I can play Fable II and other games =D

Night shots =D

Recently I didn’t post much about my rig, didn’t I? So here’s a post about my rig’s night shots that I took at about 2 in the morning =D

Before I post any of them, here’s the picture of my CM CCFL that burn after about 30 seconds after I switched them on.

P1010072

Managed to take this picture before the light died.

Here are the night shots.

P1010134

Side view from the front.

P1010138

Lower-front shot of the interior.

P1010146

The shot I like the most.

Well actually yeah, there aren’t much update about my rig these days, except for my new fan. Look at the rear fan lol, it’s the Cooler Master 90CFM 19dBA fan. My old Vizo broke off… so I guess that’s it.

AMD’s ATI Radeon HD 5800 series

On AMD’s recent launch, the HD 5870 and HD 5850 had already been launched. The new cards now has DirectX 11, Eyefinity technology and also a lot more new features and a redefinition on gaming graphics.

big_radeon-hd-5870-1

The new ATI HD 5870. Cooler design with a black body and red outline.

To my surprise, it uses the new ATI’s 40nm Cypress GPU. It’s a 1GB GDDR5, single cored but only 256-bit graphic card. The bandwidth of this graphic card is 153.6GB/s (as stated at bit-tech). The performance of this beast is already quite on par with the ATI HD 4870x2 but still losing to the dual-GPU nVidia GTX 295.

Here are some pictures I got from bit-tech

1

The new ATI Eyefinity technology. Supports up to 3 TFTs on a single card with individual settings for landscape or portrait mode.

Without the cooler.

The new ATI HD 5870 is relatively long, due to it’s crazy amount of transistors, which doubled the amount back at the HD 4800 series.

The back of the graphic card.

Well if you’re observant, the new HD 5870’s cooler design is relatively matching with the original Batmobile back at the 60’s.

Here’s a modification I found online. Indeed a matching one!

Also here’s a sneak preview of the ATI’s Eyefinity technology in conjunction with our famous TFT manufacturer, Samsung.

Cooler Master imitation!

Imagine this – walking pass a very nice-looking computer shop, hoping for more or different things to see. Entered the shop and it turned out to be a fairly empty shop. Proceeding in… there’s a lot of racks selling peripherals of unknown brands. To my surprise I saw this.

P1010046

Cooler Master imitation – the packaging.

The first thing that caught my attention is the Cooler Master Notepal X1 cooler for notebooks. The design is really special so I couldn’t resist to have a look at it. To my surprise, it’s not Cooler Master, but yet another imitation.

P1010047

Cooler Yulong. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

P1010048

Pure imitation – the Cooler Master logo watermark.

When I saw this, I remembered Cooler Master’s logo shape. It shapes exactly like this watermark. Here’s a reference picture of the logo.

Cooler Master

Official Cooler Master logo.

To my surprise, when I tried to Photoshop it in, it fits perfectly!

P1010048 modded

Obvious imitation!

I already told Cooler Master about this so let’s see what’s the reply. I’ll refer this blog post to them for further details.

One-day trip to KL

On the 19th of September, my family and I went to KL for a day to get my sister’s offer letter to work at KL, working at MUI in PMI Tower to be exact. Congratulations to her =D

Went there as early as possible because MUI is only working for half day on Saturdays. That morning was extremely sleepy, so we took the sleep to the car.

P1000983

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

P1000978

Random shot I took in the car.

Thanks to my sister’s iPhone, we reached there rather quick. First is my sister’s workplace.

P1000999

Menara PMI. Looks like some hotel lobby inside =D

Then off to Sungei Wang!

P1010004

Wardrobe at the parking lot =O Took this in a hurry

P1010008

The decorations for Raya =D

P1010010

Arabian-themed?

Then we headed to Kim Gary to have a meal. Sadly, my brother and I planned to go to Wendy’s but we couldn’t find any at Sungei Wang. Took a lot of pictures, so here’s just a few =D

P1010023

Order a set meal and add RM1 for this funky drink =O

P1010028

Most special fries I ever tasted.

P1010042

Tasty cheese-baked rice =D

After the delicious meal (thanks to my brother for the treat) we headed to our own paths. Ah Chia, my brother and I went to  Lowyat =D

P1010043

Saw this at the shop called HUB at Lowyat Plaza. The C4’s big brother. A really heavy blaster! Edifier FTW!

I bought a pair of CCFL and a fan, since my old one died. I’ll talk about that next time =D

So after Lowyat, we went down the from the plaza and entered a very wide and nice-looking shop. To my surprise, inside there was rather empty and sells imitated products! I’ll post about that next time. Then we headed to Times Square.

P1010045

Times Square. Biiiiiiiiig…

We went in, walked around, lost Chia, waited anxiously for her for half an hour, found ah Chia and went back to Sungei Wang to meet with my mom and my sister. To my surprise, my brother’s desperation already ate him up. He bought an Xbox 360 and then we headed back.

About the CCFL, the imitations and the Xbox 360, I’ll post it next time =D
