HAF 932 review

Review of my computer chassis. I wanted to do this long ago.

HAF 932. It has its own logo!

Well, to start, this chassis can have 12 fans without the power supply.

In comes power supply, out goes 1 or 2 fans. 1kW power supplies eats two 120mm fan slots. Harsh.

The chassis itself has very nice features, like the HAF painting.

This chassis might be big, but it fits in under my table actually.

Look at the clearing between the table and the top of the chassis.

There are many potentials in this chassis’s design. As usual though, all creations are flawed. Even we humans are flawed.

A very classy look and rugged too. The HAF 932 offers excellent airflow.

Actually I found 1 more place to put in 2 fans actually. I never knew this was possible

Note that this two slots are for power supply air intake but instead if you choose to install the power supply at the top, this will be empty. It fits in two 120mm fans.

A spacious interior is great of heat dissipation and also interior lightings with perfect cable management for all.

Can fit in six optical disk drives (floppy disk drive hidden, can be converted) and 5 hard disks. All tool free with silent anti-vibration pads.

Even so actually, it comes with a set of wheels and also a set of aluminium feet. I use wheels, but still you cannot feel anything rattling.

There are a few things about this chassis is that it has enough space for a 3x120mm radiator at the top. Also there’s a hole for filling in coolants directly externally.

Rubber matting covering the fill port. You can put your personal things above it.

Also, for those who just love to save bucks, DIY cooling solutions are like advised in this chassis. Spacious yet many places to hook up zip ties to support fans.

I personally hooked up the stock 140mm fan at the HDD cage to extract air. Speeds up the airflow, and yet very silent.

It also offers a pretty big hole to install or uninstall third party cooler blocks at the processor. Removing motherboards are most likely optional to most of the motherboards.

What I meant was, only certain motherboards can use this feature well. I can’t.

The tool free mechanism for the optical disk drives are very special and patented. A press-to-lock or unlock device for all 6 slots. Very neat feature and saves time too.

The cons of this chassis is really annoying. It is a dust collector. For God’s sake that much airflow with no air filters are a pain in the ass.

Look at the Cooler Master logo there. It is clogged with dust!

The disappointment of dust is really, really harsh. I myself haven’t clear that much dust before from my chassis. I guess that’s a really painful thing to say.

In conclusion, this chassis is great. Most of the latest patents and features are included in this chassis. Spacious and yet perfect ventilation and cable management system, but it is a dust collector. I guess all chassis are dust collectors, no? The weight on the other hand is really a backbone killer. Thanks to Cooler Master, they thought of having wheels to be substituted onto it.

Personally I think this chassis is a sizzling one. Have fun everybody!

Funny things

Yeah, I got back a couple of papers, mostly only a part though, of my test paper. I got back my English test paper. It is funny now looking back what I wrote for it.

Seriously I wonder why did I type that. It seems like I was desperate for points to be written down that time, so I simply spam something there, I suppose.

Also I started off my collection of computer stuff magazine, HWM. It is considered cheap for their quality print and the knowledge they give you.

DSLRs as a main one this two month.

There’s a day when I was taking a nap, my mom spammed calls to my brother and he didn’t receive any. I don’t know who to trust, but then my brother came back later and showed me his phone… The SIM card holder came off the whole phone! OMG!

I suspect that it is still loose.

Well though, that’s all for this update. Next one coming up in like few minutes I think.

Yes, durian season is up. This means drought too.

iPhone OS 3.0 – arrived at my doorstep for my sister. Helped her to upgrade, ends up not being able to boot up. Gone through some long process and finally it can boot up. Scared the hell out of me.

The place where I do all my stuff. Such small place but actually its all cramped up with printer, modem, camera, water bottle, phone, component player (my speaker), my HAF 932, house phone, school stuff, CDs and DVDs, screwdrivers, toolbox, extra fans and some other smaller things.

Prototype! *Spoilers*

Seriously, when Prototype first released, I wanted to play it so badly. The trailers and the game play in it sounds so… original and tempting. So I got the game. I started playing, the graphics were superb and the game play isn’t really hard plus easy controls even with the keyboard.

There are skills and upgrades like Spiderman, hordes like Left 4 Dead, hack and slash like Wolverine.

Critical Mass spikes thing.

Oh God, I’m out of things to say in this game. It’s too nice that you will have to play it yourself.

P/S : I think there will be a Prototype 2.

Free fans!

Yeah, as I previous updated about, I got 2 free Cooler Master 90CFM 19dBA fan from a Lowyat forums member, also a friend of mine. Before I post anything, here’s a picture that my other friend took at Indonesia.

Well, back to the post, here’s the 2 fans I got.

 

Parcel arrived.

 

 

This is actually a brochure from the game Rappelz haha. I wonder how he actually wrapped it so nicely with the sentence “EPIC ADVENTURE COMING YOUR WAY”.

 

 

Damn weh, it was wrapped so hard that I had some rough time just opening it.

After screwing up the brochure, there’s another big big layer of wrap. Finally I can see the fan itself.

The fans themselves.

After screwing the box open, I got the fan but the screws and the 3pin to Molex converter is still in there. God that is very closely wrapped.

So I wrapped the wires along, for a neat cable management of course then I secured the fan on the HAF 932, my love.

It went for the side panel. Finally I had the fans exact positioning like how I first planned it since I got my Sapphire Ultimate HD 3870.

Now actually, I had one extra fan. This is going to go one more fan to my replace my Sunbeam Core-Contact Freezer. After that, I found some great way to reduce my hands shaking tremendously. I took a few shots just to try out.

Right… Random post. I got a lot of randomly taken pictures to post, so embrace yourselves!

 

My tuition teacher, who is also my savior. She seriously saved my ass from maths and physics. Additional Maths… pain in the ass. Hard to understand, but she teach with all the simple and easy steps. Physics… my teacher is unreliable. I wish I have Mr.Paltorray back.

 

 

Cable management! I snapped my PATA (IDE) cable into half just to let cables to pass through.

Hmmm… For some who saw my restaurant in Restaurant City @ Facebook, I actually lost my shop. This is what I meant.

 

You see, when I started using Nuffnang, there were actually people Googled for my blog. The keywords they used and stumbling upon my blog is… Heart touching.

 

Oh yes… Free fan from a Lowyat Forums member. God he’s good. He even sent it to me via Pos Laju a.k.a. Express Mail. I got 2 fans. Both worked like a charm.

Holidays are going to end…

Well yeah, holidays ARE going to end. This is bad. But on the bright side I can finally go see some people back at school. Whee…

Well anyway though I got some interesting events too. Example that I found some of my pictures in my phone back at KL… We had bak kut teh (some Chinese herbal soup thing) after my sister’s convocation and it tasted well.

Oh God this holiday is quite boring…

   Ok this holiday is officially quite lame. First week just ended. So I’m here going to update my blog again! Hah… I seriously need to change ISP. I can’t even surf properly this whole week.

Well anyway, last week I flashed my BIOS and the changelog was stated as “Reduced CPU thermal”. I was like O_O wow! I downloaded it and flashed it. BUT before that, I did the best part, reviewing. Haha.

This holiday is quite awesome. I did quite a number of things, like wrapping wan tan and eating them. Homemade!

The fried wan tans. Damn they’re crispy and nice.

I also slept 2 nights without air-conditioner and it never rained for like few weeks!

Well after that 2 nights, the thing was… well… the air conditioner’s motherboard just died.
